Who we are, what we believe, and how that shapes life at Broad Street.

Our Story

Broad Street Church is a local church in Philadelphia rooted in historic Christian faith and committed to following Jesus in our city today.

From the beginning, Broad Street has existed to share the good news of the gospel and to form a community shaped by God’s Word and grace. We’re part of a broader family of churches that value biblical teaching, thoughtful theology, and faithful presence in everyday life.

Our mission is simple: to help people encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and live that faith where they live and work. We gather on Sundays to worship and learn together, and we serve throughout the week in our homes, neighborhoods, and city.

If you’re new to church or looking for a place to belong, we’re glad you’re here and would love to welcome you in person.

Our Church Culture

Though every church shares the essentials of the Christian faith in common, each local church has distinct characteristics, a culture.

Relational - we move past the Sunday morning greeting to build a church family where everyone is known, loved, and supported.
Joyful - We are a community marked by the deep happiness of the Gospel, expressed through warm hospitality and sincere worship.
Ordinary - We trade the pressure of "performance" for the beauty of being regular people following an extraordinary God together.

Our Core Values

These core convictions shape how we love God, care for one another, and serve our city.

REFORMED

Based on the Scriptures alone, we believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, for the glory of God alone. God has graciously chosen a people from every tribe, tongue, and nation. We are glad recipients of his marvelous grace.

Elder-Governed

Jesus Christ reigns as head over the church, and he gives his church elders (pastors) to govern and lead under his authority. We believe that men, qualified by both character and gifting, are to serve as elders by loving God’s people.

Missional

We believe Jesus has called the whole church to be on mission until the day that he returns, and so God's mission is not an extra-curricular activity to us, but a lens through which we see all of our lives.

What We Believe

While the Bible is our only infallible rule of faith and practice, we are also committed—and accountable—to a specific statement of faith that represents a summary of the teaching of Scripture.
